If I could go anywhere in the world...

Well I have tons of places I would want to go! But as I am limited to just a weekend, I think I would do a whirlwind tour of Italy!

During the summer I read a fantastic book called Eat, Pray, Love. To summarize, it is a true story narrated by Elizabeth Gilbert and she travels to three places in order to heal herself after a rough divorce. The first is Italy, to find pleasure in life again, the second is India to find peace, and the third is Bali to combine the two. I also saw the movie based on the same book. And during the whole first part, all I wanted to do was eat some PASTA and PIZZA because that is all she does for a third of the story. And it makes you hungry! The movie was even worse for that! Afterwards I took an emergency trip to East Side Marios and ate like nobodies business.

While in Italy, I would see Rome, learn some Italian, see the Colosseum. And I would try to just wing the entire trip. Not too much planning, just wandering around, eating when I'm hungry, sleeping when I'm tired.

I would want, of course, a travel partner! So if anyone is interested let me know. We'll be leaving immedediately.

  1. Ahh I love this! I as well read that book, and saw the movie, and loved it! I agree, it made me want pasta so bad in the movie!! The field hockey team is travelling to Italy this March Break and I am super excited! It has always been a place I've wanted to go! But I like your idea of travel, sounds exactly like how I would want to tour! I hope you realise I will be tagging along with you!

  2. I would go back in a heartbeat! You will love it. The food, the sights, the people: amazing. Seeing Michaelangelo's David confirmed for me why so many people go mad for it. The collosseum was fascinating--lots of cats hang out there. Who knew? My favourite place was Florence and the locks of love on the bridge...look it up. It's pretty cool.
