Leader or Follower

Because I am a first born child, I am naturally predisposed to be a leader! And generally I would say this is true. But I'm the type of person to take control if no one else is. If somebody else is taking charge, I'm pretty happy to let them go at it...as long as they are doing a good job ;)

For example, I'm one of the Co-Chairpersons of Music Council this year, but only because there was lots of encouraging from the music teachers. If there had been somebody else who was dying to do the job, and I had thought they would have done a good job, I probably wouldn't have even applied.

And in group projects, I often feel like I am taking the leadership role to make sure everything gets done. After all, someone has got to do it!

And when I was a kid, I was definitely the leader out of the neighborhood kids. I was the oldest, so my sister and neighbors listened to me :)

I'm doing a project right now on Birth Order and how it affects a persons character. This information is clarifying why most of the presidents and prime ministers are first borns!
First Borns are - Conscientious, well organized, serious, goal oriented, achieving, people pleasers and believers in authority.
All of these are assets in leaderships roles!
