Oh voting season at W-O. The campaigns, the flyers, the random people yelling at you to VOTE for their candidate. In my grade 12 year, I've kind of stopped caring.
Maybe its because I probably won't be coming back. Maybe its because I don't really know any of the candidates. But really, I think its because after the candidates are voted in, I don't really see them leading the school anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I admire the people who run for Co-pres. I think it takes a lot of courage to go up in front of your peers and ask for votes. And I know W-O's student leaders do TONS behind the scenes. But I never really see them making a difference in our school.
I actually brought this up today, and some teachers told me that there have been co-presidents who were very present in the school, and made a huge difference at W-O. So these comments I make do not apply to all co-presidents. Just my experiance.
So do we need co-presidents? Even though my comments have been negative, yes! For one, we need to have two leaders who do all of the jobs that comes with being co-pres. And each time we vote a new leader in, there is always a chance that he or she is the one that comes along once in a while who will make a huge difference at W-O.
