Hot Yoga

MY NEW LOVE!
 I NEVER though I would be into yoga. I thought it was for those crazy meditating people who were all spiritual but guess what?! It isn't!

I was introduced to hot yoga by my friend Katie Gingrich at Moksha Yoga Waterloo, located on Erb St in case you are wondering.

As a dancer, yoga is really good for me because instead of forcing flexibility, you relax into it, a technique that has really helped me. Everything that you do in hot yoga, especially at the beginner level is mind over matter. None of the moves are particularely hard, but holding them in the intense heat takes a fair bit of will power.

My favourite kind of classes offered are called Karma Classes. Instead of paying a fee (regularely $15) you make a donation of atleast $7 and the money goes to a charity! I think that is so cool...you get yoga and better the world!

I especially like doing yoga on Sundays, the one day of the week that I reserve for catching up on all of the homework I've neglected during the week. Yoga is such a great break from all of the sitting and studying.

    Hey, very cool. I've been thinking of going to that very place but have never done hot yoga--only cold? yoga. I'm worried I'll pass out. Gonna give it a go! Maybe we'll bump into each other and smell each other's sweat. Not awkward at all.
